Ah, October — the crisp autumn air fills with the sound of migrating geese and the slight scent of wood fire smoke, the leaves shift from green to yellow to orange to vibrant auburn, and the ghosts, ghouls, Loraxes, Marios, and Luigis hit the cobblestone streets of Church Hill.
Throughout October, the Church Hill Association hosts Hill-O-Ween, a month of freaky fun across the neighborhood. Church Hill is always a wonderful neighborhood to explore, but we shine in Spooky Season. Join us, won’t you?
Decorated Houses Tour
Each October, neighbors decorate their homes for a Decorated Houses Tour. The Church Hill Association shares a map of participating homes on social media so the community can explore the displays, and experience the frightful fun first-hand!

Haunts of Richmond Ghost Tours
Every October, the Church Hill Association partners with Haunts of Richmond to offer discounted historically researched ghost tours with professional storytellers through Church Hill’s storied streets around Halloween. Birthplace of the American Revolution and home to a notorious Civil War spy, Church Hill’s colorful past has produced a cadre of restless spirits for you to explore!

Neighborhood Yoga & Costume Party
Details to come, but new this year, the Church Hill Association is partnering with Second Arrow Yoga on Saturday, October 24th to offer an evening of yoga with drinks, snacks, and a costume contest afterwards. There will be a discount with code "CHA". Check back for the link!
Robinson Theater Fall Festival
Every year, on the Sunday before Halloween, the Robinson Theater — Church Hill’s community arts center — holds their annual Fall Festival with Trunk-R-Treating, music, games, a costume contest, and more family friendly fun! This year’s festival is being held Sunday, October 25th from 3-5:30PM at their theater — 2903 Q Street. Find out more.
Hill-O-Ween Parade
On Halloween evening, kids, families, and dogs are invited to gather at Libby Hill Park in costume for a short parade before trick-or-treating begins. The event includes face painting, drinks, and other activities from 5-5:30PM.
Trick-or-Treating in Church Hill
Halloween night in Church Hill is legendary—especially along Broad Street—where hundreds (sometimes thousands!) of kids come out for trick-or-treating.
