Church Hill Families
Church Hill is a wonderful neighborhood to grow up in: Families have access to the amenities and walkability that make city life great without sacrificing the nature, parks, and playgrounds that make exploring the outdoors so much fun.

Our Schools
Our schools make up a vibrant, unique community that is always coming together to celebrate and improve our kids' education. On top of regular instruction, there are lots of additional resources like the Lit Limo bookmobile, and fun things to get involved in for the whole community, like Chimbochella (Chimborazo Elementary's annual outdoor concert and art festival).
Several of the schools have an active PTA and allow regular school tours, so reach out via the contact methods on their web sites to schedule a time to come check them out. It's really worth walking around a school, talking to teachers and families, and seeing the learning environment for yourself to get an accurate feel for it.
To volunteer directly in our local schools, check out Communities in Schools of Richmond.

Childcare
Finding daycares and babysitters can be one of the biggest challenges of parenthood, but we've got a few options locally. Know of anything else that should be listed? Reach out and suggest that we add it!

Libraries
We're lucky to have the East End Library right here in our neighborhood, a Richmond Public Library branch that has a great collection of children's books and runs a variety of story times and kid-focused activities throughout the week. There are also a couple of Henrico County libraries nearby that are also fabulous and feature great children's play areas (note that City of Richmond residents are eligible for free Henrico Library cards).

In addition to traditional libraries, there's the Lit Limo bookmobile as well as several Little Free Libraries for you to plunder (and contribute back to) on your walks around the neighborhood. The ones at Chimborazo Playground, Bellevue Elementary, ChildSavers, and Chimborazo Elementary tend to be stocked with plenty of children's books.
Playgrounds
There are plenty of slides, swings, and see-saws around for the playground enthusiasts in your life, and they always make a good destination for that pre-nap walk.
