The Neighborhood
Church Hill is one of Richmond’s oldest and most storied neighborhoods. It’s said that in 1737, the view from Libby Hill Park reminded William Byrd II of his home on the Thames, Richmond Hill—giving our capital city its name. Today, that same view continues to inspire, reflecting the rich history and vibrant culture that make Church Hill truly unique.
From charming historic homes and iconic landmarks to a world-class food scene, Church Hill offers an experience like no other. We’re just moments away from downtown Richmond, GRTC Pulse Bus Rapid Transit, and the scenic Capital Trail—whether you prefer to walk, bike, drive, or hop on public transit.
About the Church Hill Association
The Church Hill Association (CHA), founded in 1964, is a nonprofit dedicated to helping Church Hill thrive and grow thoughtfully while honoring its history and strengthening community connections. We build community through events, education, neighborhood improvements, and support for local parks, schools, businesses, and nonprofits. Our goal is simple: foster an inclusive, vibrant neighborhood where neighbors feel connected and empowered to shape the future together.
