Volunteer
Thinking about volunteering your time to help the community? Whatever your skills, talents, and interests, the Church Hill Association can find a place for you!
Committees are the beating heart of the organization, and where most of the day-to-day volunteering work gets accomplished. Our committees span a wide range of topics: if you have an interest in doing community outreach, helping with financial efforts like fundraising and grants, weighing in on historic preservation, planning and running events, thinking about how streets and transportation work in the neighborhood, maintaining and improving our parks, creating and distributing our newsletter, or all things related to kids and education, you’ll have plenty to do.
Our board is instrumental in keeping overarching operations rolling throughout the year, and great for folks with an interest in community organizing or administrative experience. Don’t let the idea of being on a nonprofit board of directors intimidate you—our meetings are very relaxed, and we always need new input and ideas. We welcome board members from different age groups, backgrounds, and perspectives, with the common motivation of supporting our neighborhood. If you’re even a little bit interested in serving the community in this way, contact our President.
Our biggest events like Church Hill’s famous Hog on the Hill barbecue festival, Spring Fest & Market, or the Holiday Weekend could not be the amazing events that they are without the dedication of our volunteers. From event decoration, setup, and traffic direction to manning our table, taking donations, and interacting with vendors, there is always lots to do. Folks look forward to signing up for slots and running these events every year, and it’s a great way to connect with neighbors and meet new friends. Next time we have a signup open on our SignUpGenius page, we’ll link to it here!
