Welcome to Church Hill

A historic neighborhood that features period architecture, celebrated restaurants and bakeries, and a warm and welcoming community.

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

Church Hill is one of the oldest and most historic neighborhoods in Richmond. It’s said that in 1737, the view from Libby Hill Park reminded William Byrd II of his home on the Thames, Richmond Hill, and thus our Capital City was named. It’s safe to say we’re a big part of the story of the great city of Richmond and its unique culture. We’ve got a world class food scene, loads of historic sites worth learning about, and we are only a hop, skip, and a jump—or whatever your favorite mode of transport is—away from downtown Richmond and the Capital Trail.

The Church Hill Association (CHA) is an active group with a mission to preserve our history and create our communities future. If you’re visiting Richmond, we hope that you make Church Hill a destination. If you live in the area, we would love to get to know you!
