Edward D. Christian, 32, of Charles City, VA, died September 14, 2023. He was an employee of the Richmond Department of Public Works and was working to remove the trees that had fallen in a previous storm at Libby Hill Park. In doing so, a large trunk rolled onto him and ended his life. He is survived by his mother, Jean F. Christian; his brother, Eric G. Christian; his grandparents, William A. and Jean J. Christian; and his aunt, Sharon C. Kent (Christopher).

Remains rest at Scott’s Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where viewing will be held on Monday, September 25 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, September 26, at Scott’s Chapel (116 E. Brookland Park Blvd.). Rev. James Johnson, officiating. Interment at Parrish Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Charles City, VA. Live streaming is available at scottsfuneralhome.com.

After discussion with Mr. Christian’s family, the CHA is coordinating a fundraising effort for a memorial in the park (a park bench and memorial plaque).
